Pran Pratishtha at Ram Janmabhoomi Temple
Ayodhya, India – The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, or consecration of the idol, was held at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. The ceremony was attended by millions of people from all over India, as well as several world leaders. The ceremony began with a Vedic chanting and prayers led by a team of priests. The idol of Lord Ram, which was carved by renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was then bathed in holy water and decorated with flowers.
The idol was then placed on a raised platform in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The priests performed a series of rituals to invoke the presence of the divine in the idol.
The ceremony was a culmination of decades of struggle by Hindu nationalists to build a temple at the site where Lord Ram is believed to have been born. The temple’s construction was completed in August 2023, and the Pran Pratishtha ceremony marked its official opening.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony was a historic event that was seen by many as a victory for Hindu nationalism. It also marked a new chapter in the history of Ayodhya, which is now a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus from all over the world.
